Description

Lizard wasp
Scientific name: sauroaccipiter ("lizard hawk" after the parasitic wasp known as tarantula hawks)
Length: 4 to 6 inches
Habitats: rainforests
Native region: South America
Evolved from: parasitoid wasps
Lifespan: 3 years

- These insects have retained a similar body plan to their ancestors. Their way of reproduction is the same as well, however lizard wasps target lizards. When they spot a lizard , they'll sting the animal and paralyze it. Although the victim is immobilized, it's still alive. The wasp will then implant 2 or 3 eggs inside of the unfortunate host and then it'll bury it. For 3 weeks the grubs will eat the unfortunate host from the inside out until it dies. Only leaving bone and some skin. After 3 weeks, the grubs will then form a cocoon and metamorphose into its adult form. A huge wasp with an amber colored body and lime green eyes and abdomen.
- They're over 50 different species of these wasps. Some species target small mammals, others target birds, some even target fish. But Regardless, their reproductive cycles are still the same.
